PARENTS: As many of you already know, I will be leaving Madrona at the end of 3rd quarter.  My wife and I had already planned to move up to Washington state during the summer.  However, she was recently offered a position within her same company in Seattle which begins in mid-April.  As our future lay in Washington anyway, and considering this economy and lack of jobs in general, it would be foolish to pass up the opportunity.  Consequently, I will be going with her when she leaves.  The decision to leave early was not easy, and I do not relish leaving my students before the end of the eyar.  However, rest assured that I am working very closely with my full-time replacement to ensure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible.  She is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the students for the entire 4th quarter.

Parents: Please remember to check your students' planners nightly!  There should never be any blank spaces.  Mrs. Thompson and I require students to write "no homework" in the event that there is no homework.  Blanks are bad!
