Success Runs Deep In Our Wildcat Pride

Dear Madrona Community Member,
Welcome to our 2009-10 school year. I hope that your summer was full of memorable and maybe even relaxing moments and now you’re re-charged for the upcoming year. It gives me great pride to work with such a talented and dedicated group of PTSA members this year. Even through the summer months, PTSA has already been hard at work planning, organizing and making a difference at Madrona. I encourage you to join us this year; by volunteering, even for just a few hours, you will have a great impact on what we can provide to the students and staff at Madrona.

Enclosed in this registration packet are many flyers about different PTSA programs and activities. Please take a moment to read through them and support everything that interests you. This year we will be hosting a limited number of major fundraisers. As school budgets are cut continually by our State Legislators, your financial support of PTSA provides important items our school simply can no longer afford, including field trips, library books, PE equipment, in-class art, and assemblies, just to name a few. This year’s fundraisers include:
  • Our traditional Magazine Drive in the fall, combined with straight donations (without purchase of a magazine, students will earn the same prizes without the selling aspect).
  • Our Membership Campaign of which a small percentage of the dues stay with our PTSA, the majority of your dues is forwarded onto district, state and national PTA to keep the voices and concerns of our students’ education and welfare at the forefront of our legislators’ mindset.
  • Cookie Dough: This is a Student Council fundraiser. New this year, PTSA will help with the administrative side of this fundraiser.  As a result, our PTSA hopes to have enough funds to pay for the admission fee for all students during field trips.
  • Jog-a-Thon: This year, PTSA is pleased to host a Jog-a-Thon in Spring (the date TBA). This will be a fun activity involving all students and will be an opportunity to get out, have fun, put in some laps benefitting Madrona PTSA, and earn great prizes in the process.

During registration, we will be offering Spirit Wear (priced from $10-28), Book Covers ($3.00 each or 5 for $12.), PTSA Membership ($6.00 per member) Planners ($7.00 or discounted with PTSA memberships) and Yearbook (discounted price $32at registration). Please remember to bring your checkbook in addition to your completed registration packet to registration.

I am looking forward to an exciting and successful year for our PTSA. The more folks we have involved, the more we can do. New this year, PTSA now has email!  Please contact us and let us know how’d you like to help and/or questions you might have. You can reach me at madronaptsa@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your continued support of Madrona PTSA!
